Todays electric generators and motors are based on 19th century principles.

Electric motors & generators, based on 19th century principles, only operate efficiently within narrow ranges.  Last we checked, wind speeds tend to be HIGHLY variable.    On recent drives to our R&D center, we've also observed that our cars need to stop, start, go slow, go fast, & everything in between.  Current motors and wind generators are missing the ability to operate efficiently in highly variable input and  output applications.
